New Cookie Law

On the 26th May 2012 a new EU originated law requires website owners to make significant changes to their websites which may change the whole website browsing experience for everybody.

Online businesses will now require consent from each visitor before a business can collect and use the data obtained by a cookie.

 

Does this affect A1WebStats?

A1WebStats will not be affected by the new cookie law as our software does not use cookies. You can be sure that our service will remain unaffected and will continue to track companies visiting your website and the keywords used and the pages they have looked at.

 

What about other analytics packages?

Many other analytics packages will be affected by the cookie law and would require customers using the service to comply with the rules set in place on the website: http://www.cookielaw.org/

 

What are cookies?

Cookies are pieces of text that websites place on computers when someone has visited a website. A cookie is normally set to allow the website to remember the state of a customers shopping cart or some other information such as a particular colour scheme that a website visitor has chosen.

 

What do you need to do?
